Finland Is Covering Reindeer Antlers In Reflective Paint To Prevent Car Accidents
Driving at evening can be dangerous, especially when there are wild animals roaming about.
It is nearly impossible to spot one in your path when you’re speeding up down the road prior to it’s too late.
This is an problem in Finland, where an approximated 4,000 reindeer die every year due to car accidents and cause around $18 million in damages. So it was time somebody did something about it.

A group called the Finnish Reindeer Herders Association was motivated to find up with a solution. One of the easiest yet ingenious stood apart, to spray the animals with reflective paint.
It is basically like providing the animal a high-visibility coat in the hope that they glow when the light hits them, to make it more likely for a driver to spot them.
” The spray is being checked on fur right now, but it might be much more efficient on the horns since they are seen from every side,” claimed Anne Ollila, the chairwoman of the Reindeer Herders Association.
” [The antlers] interest generally worldwide and was the very best campaign so far,” the association claimed. “There are some problems with the durability and utility, but the item development continues.”
