A video of the rescue was posted on Reddit by u/Ddusco and reveals a minimum of 9 men gathered around a bear on the side of the road.
The bear’s head was tightly lodged in a metal bucket and it was struggling to free itself. Rather than letting nature take its course, the men decided to step up and do something.
Despite the risk they were taking to their own lives and health, they approached the bear and got the bucket to pull it off. It wasn’t easy and it wound up taking five men to pull the bear free!
As they drew, the bear rolled around and knocked with huge claws, but the men persisted and eventually released the giant animal.
While releasing the bear was their end goal, it also positioned a risk: Once the bear was free, it can quickly maul any among them.
With that in mind, the men ran away from the bear as quickly as its head was free. They ran for their lives, quite literally!
Thankfully, nobody ended up obtaining pain and the bear was able to live another day and hopefully many more.
