See The Emotional Moment This Lost Senior Dog Reunites With Her Human
The night previously, a number of Good Samaritans seeing a local fireworks show saw the shadow of an animal run around their car, after that hide underneath it. “We thought she was a fox,” Marilyn Williams, one of the Good Samaritans.
They soon realized that the animal was, actually, a dog, and they could inform by her eyes that she needed assistance. “She looked truly frightened,” Williams said.
At first, the nervous puppy refused to budge from underneath the car. But the couple continued, and eventually the dog dashed out and leapt straight into their vehicle via the driver’s side door, finally safe.
Williams and her husband brought her home for the night, where they gave her food, water and cleaned up a tiny cut on her face. Throughout it all, the sweet dog stayed extremely calm.
” She was very peaceful and timid,” Williams said. “She never barked when. She never made a peep.”
After a comfortable night’s sleep, the couple called Mitchell Region Animal Sanctuary and brought the peaceful puppy in, wishing to reunite her with her owners.
As quickly as workers at the shelter laid eyes on her, they identified the dog as Fiona: a senior dog that went missing out on a month earlier during a family vacation. She was even featured in one of the “missing” posters taped to their front door.
Workers verified Fiona’s identity by scanning her for a microchip, then called her mother with the good news. Fiona, that was equally as quiet at the shelter as she had actually been at Williams’ house, perked up for the first time the moment her mother went through the door.
“When Fiona heard her, she got all excited,” an worker at the sanctuary Said.
And when Fiona got to see her mom, her tail wouldn’t stop wagging.
Fiona is currently back home and safe with her family, and although Williams and her household miss the wonderful pup they got to know that evening, they’re happy she’s right back where she belongs.
“It’s just a truly happy ending to a really special story,” Williams said.
