Dog that ‘hates baths’ caught sneaking into neighbor’s house every night to join kids’ bathtime

How many times has your dog tried to sneak out of the house? It may have been too many to keep count, but it is natural behavior for our pets to try to escape sometimes to look for more stimulation and activity outside our homes.

For this Staffordshire Bull Terrier in Melbourne, Australia named Aeida, sneaking out of the house every day is something that she likes doing for one sweet reason – to be with her dog and human friends next door.

Nicole Ackehurst, Aeida’s owner, says that since they moved into their new house in Australia, her dog has developed a liking for their neighbor’s dog, Cashew.

They love spending time together so much that the two families had to make it easier for the best friends to see each other whenever they want. Together, the two neighbors built a doggy door between their properties so Aeida and Cashew can play whenever they want.

Since installing the doggy door in their new house, Aeida has been using it all the time to visit not just Cashew but also Cashew’s family. The staffy especially loved playing with the neighbor’s two little kids, rolling on the floor with them as they play.

“Aeida is very friendly and loving. She really just loves everyone and anything — especially our neighbors’ children,” Nicole Said.

One night, Aeida was nowhere to be found in their new house. Nicole figured that she might be next door playing with Cashew and the kids, until the neighbors informed her that the dog was there for another reason.

“Our neighbors sent us a Facebook message with Aeida sitting in their bathtub,” Nicole said. “We believe that was the first time she had done it.”

Aeida’s owners and their neighbors found it absolutely hysterical, especially since the dog hated taking baths in her own house. But apparently, she was willing to do it just as long as her favorite kids were there!

This wasn’t the last time Aeida went over to participate in bath time with the kids. Nearly every single night, she would head over at bedtime to help the children get ready. And the neighbors surely aren’t complaining having this good girl around all the time.

“She will join them at bath time at every chance she gets,” Nicole said.

At this point, Aeida and Cashew are now significant members of both families. For Aeida, that means getting the chance to join in on the neighbor’s activities as much as she likes!

“I’m pretty sure our neighbors love having her over, just as we love having Cashew come over too Aeida and Cashew are great friends, and have such a strong bond. They’re both considered great parts of our families,” Nicole said.

How adorable! These families are so lucky to be enjoying the companionship and loyalty of two dogs. Plus, what better way to get the kids to do their nightly bath than to do it with the best pets around?
