Ashley Boggs, a long-time dog rescuer, has made it her life’s mission to help save dogs in need.
Dog Mom’s Determined Plea for Help Saves Her Puppies in Puerto Rico
While driving down a forest road in Puerto Rico one day, she encountered a brown canine behaving unusually, stopping cars and seemingly begging for help. Unlike most stray dogs, who typically avoid human interaction, this one was clearly trying to communicate something urgent.
Momma Dog Begging For One Thing Only
As Ashley got out of her car, she realized the dog was a nursing mother in desperate need of assistance. The dog, later named Goji, had been left in the woods with her newborn puppies, struggling to care for them without food or water.
Boggs, who works with Miracles for Satos Rescue, was able to step in just in time. Goji wasn’t alone—two other puppies were hiding nearby. Ashley quickly secured them in her car, but there were still more cries coming from the woods. Knowing she had to help, she returned to find four more puppies hidden near a box where they had been abandoned.
The Berry Family Saved On Time
With all seven puppies safely in her car, Ashley drove them to a rescue facility, where the team provided them with the care they so desperately needed. Hungry and scared, they were given a new chance at life, thanks to Boggs and her team at Miracles for Satos Rescue, an organization that saves and transports dogs from Puerto Rico to New York for adoption.
The puppies were named Raspberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry, Cloudberry, Blackberry, and Strawberry—after the bushes where they were found.
Goji, their mom, was also given a chance to heal and find peace. She was described as a loving, affectionate dog who quickly adapted to her new life, showering everyone with affection.
A New Start Ahead
With her family safe, Goji could finally relax, and the entire Berry family began to thrive in foster care. Soon after, they all found their forever homes, and their journey from the wilderness to loving families was complete.
These once-abandoned puppies are now enjoying life in their new homes, all thanks to the compassionate actions of Ashley Boggs and the Miracles for Satos Rescue team.
