One such case recently came to light when a concerned individual spotted a struggling puppy living in a pile of trash under a park bench. The puppy was cold, dirty, and frightened, desperately in need of help. The passerby posted a photo online, asking for assistance, and this caught the attention of DAR Animal Rescue.
Founder Ermioni responded quickly and arrived at the scene to find the puppy weak and unsure. The puppy whimpered in distress, but when Ermioni reached out, the puppy allowed her to comfort him. After assessing the situation, Ermioni noticed the pup had difficulty moving, which raised concern about his health.
She wrapped him in a blanket from her car and transported him to an animal clinic. Upon examination, the puppy was found to be severely underweight and covered in ticks. Thanks to the rescue team’s quick action, the puppy was given the medical care he urgently needed.
Now, the rescue team is working to help the puppy recover, hoping he will eventually find a loving forever home. This rescue story highlights the importance of community involvement in saving animals, as the simple act of posting the puppy’s photo online made all the difference.
