The heroic dog did something for her owner that saved his life recently. When the man (called Brian) collapsed in his New Jersey home after suffering a stroke, Sadie did something completely and utterly extraordinary.
Not just did she remain right by his side, however Sadie licked her owner’s face to maintain him awake, dragged him throughout the room to his cellphone, and waited by his side while Brian called for help. Ironically, Sadie came into Brian’s life simply a few months earlier. She was surrendered to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Sanctuary when her previous owner moved. She was confused and seemingly “lost” at the shelter since she lost the only family she ever before knew and loved.
According to the sanctuary, “Sadie is a loyal dog, however worried and protective with brand-new people, making her a more difficult placement. Just a couple of months ago, Brian came into Sadie’s life and determined to embrace her. Though her bio noted that she was specifically nervous with men, Brian felt a special bond with Sadie, as he valued her intelligence, hesitancy to count on and fierce loyalty once she did form that trust.”
