Extremely Unusual White Lion Quadruplets Prepare To Meet Public For The First Time After Being Born.
No, they aren’t albinos! The white lion has a special hair characterized by leucism that makes the hair lose just part of the pigment, but the lips and eyes are colored.
At the moment, only 13 lions remain in the wild, and 100 remain in bondage. Only one month earlier, four white lions arrived at the zoo in east China!
Many pictures the zoo shared from the quadruplets made millions of people loved them immediately.
The birthday of these white lion quadruplets is on November 6. The birthplace is Nantong Forest Safari Park in Jiangsu, China. All of them were males.
From the photos shared from the Chinese zoo, we can see the cubs playing via the forest together, eating, and even posing for the camera.
Regarding Nantong Forest Safari Park’s statement, the baby lions are healthy, and they are growing very quick. After one month of their birth, they were ready for their first public debut on December 26.
As we previously mentioned, only 13 white lions are in the wild, and 100 live in captivity. Worldwide White Lion Security Trust said that these adorable animals aren’t identified as different species.
Besides their rareness, the white lion does not belong to the endangered species list. Due to that, these animals aren’t protected by law.
One team member of the Global White Lion Protection Trust shared something on their website.
” The White Lions are noted as Panthera leo, which is identified as ‘Vulnerable,’ indicating they might come to be threatened with extinction in the future unless profession is carefully controlled.”
