” He explained that practically everybody in the location knows the dog and is very fond of him,” Mejía claimed. “He informed us that the canine’s proprietor was a fisherman who died some time ago, and that the canine concerns the beach every day and stares bent on sea.”

The dog, it seems, has been holding vigil– awaiting the return of his buddy who will never come home.” We were extremely moved,” said Mejía.

Mejía believes the dog’s proprietor died at sea regarding a year ago, and that the canine has been watching out for him daily ever since.

But though the canine’s proprietor might never ever return, the dog isn’t without buddies who look after him.

The dog’s sad tale is evidently well-known by people in the community, who feed him, shelter him and provide him with healthcare when he needs it.

A local veterinarian in Punta Negra confirmed to The Dodo that the dog’s name is Vaguito, which he’s currently in the treatment of a lady who lives nearby.

By day’s end, Mejía and her family eventually parted ways with Vaguito, his eyes still cast out to sea. However his bittersweet tale– one of loyalty to a love he shed, and the loyalty and love he located in the community– is one she won’t soon forget.

” I have a dog at home,” Mejía claimed. “I love dogs in general. His tale truly touched my heart.”
