Smudge was originally born on a bear bile farm in Nanning, China. He was rescued when the owners of the farm turned their property over to a bear rescue. Smudge was just one of over 130 bears on the bile farm. All of the bile ranch bears were put with rescue organizations, such as Pet Asia, the organization taking care of Smudge.
Now, Smudge takes part in daily workouts that are meant to maintain him strong, healthy, and amused. Along with a climbing tower, comfortable straw bedding, and cuddly teddy births to play with, he likewise gets access to a paddling pool.
The Chinese Bear Rescue Center in Chengdu, run by Animal Asia, gives a safe haven where bears might spend their last years in a stimulating environment. There are 11 bear houses, 15 all-natural and semi-natural units, unique care enclosures for older bears and bears with mobility problems.
