Heart-thumping moment brave diver puts her hand inside shark’s mouth to remove fishing hooks
Scuba Diver Cristina Zenato is known for her tireless work with sharks. In fact, after spending greater than two decades working with the ultimate marine predators, she gained a worldwide credibility as the ‘shark whisperer.’ However, her newest video clip is giving goosebumps to everyone that’s watching it
The lady can be seen surrounded by a group of sharks in the clear blue waters off the Bahamas. One of the sharks makes its way to the scuba diver as it was asking to be pet. It was Foggy Eye, a shark that usually does not like to be touched. It’s when Cristina realized something could be incorrect and when Foggt Eye got closer she found the fishing hook inside its mouth.
” I was like, ‘I’m going in!’ So I opened and went in, grabbed the hook,” the diver recalls the time. And ever since, the lady it resembles a “shark dentist,” being obsessed of eliminating fishing hooks from the sharks, as she admitted.
But, just how does she manage to get close of these deadly predators? According to the DailyMail, Cristina is able to put the sharks ‘ right into a trance-like state using a little-known technique of rubbing the ampullae of Lorenzini– the name given to numerous jelly-filled pores around the creature’s nose and mouth.’ And this is triggering what it’s called the ‘tonic stability.’ It’s like the sharks are falling asleep in her arms.
” In my daily job and dives with sharks I am always removing their hooks,” Ms Zenato claimed. “In this particular case it was tougher than normal. After putting the shark in tonic I had to pull it from deep within.” Now, Ms Zenato attempts to teach various other scuba divers the technique, in order to assist even more sharks to get rid off that pain.
