That visitor’s name is Paçoca.
Paçoca is a treatment horse who works with volunteers at Coletivo Inclusão, a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide outreach to individuals with special needs. What a difference it can make.
Earlier today, Spark shared a touching video clip revealing Pasoka visiting her father. Seeming to pick up the kind of interaction Joao requires most, Pasoka leans carefully against his chest, quietly exchanging comfort and love.
” He and my dad have constantly been like this,” Spike wrote. “It used to be gorgeous!”
Plainly, this is a visit that Joao will not quickly forget. And, with any good luck, it does greater than simply retain a memory.
Today, more and more medical professionals are recognizing the therapeutic advantages of treating animals to the health and well-being of their patients.
” Animal-assisted treatment can considerably reduce pain, anxiety, depression and fatigue in individuals with a series of health issue,” the Mayo Clinic reports. “It’s not just people with health problems that benefit. Family and friends who went to the animal visits claimed they also felt better. “
Joao’s child seemed to agree with Pasoka’s visit: “It was an inexplicable moment.”
